Curto and Furhman Wins Titles at Oklahoma Gold Classic

BROCKPORT, NY--Bloomsburg University wrestlers Tony Curto and Aric Furhman won individual titles on Saturday at the Oklahoma Gold Classic held at Brockport (NY) State.

As a team, the Huskies finished third with 107.5 points with Oklahoma taking the team title with 143 points with Kent State in second with 109.5.

Curto won the 141-pound title, while Furhman was a winner at 157 pounds. Curto picked up his win with a 4-3 decision over Kyle Terry of Oklahoma with Furhman downing Will Rowe of Oklahoma, 6-5.

Finishing second for the Huskies was Mike Sees at 125-pounds and Matt Moley at 149-pounds. Sees lost to Sam Hazwinkel of Oklahoma by fall, while Moley fell by a 6-5 decision to Jason McGee of Kent State.

Taking third for Bloomsburg was Ricky Donald at 133 who beat William Simpson of Army, 9-1; Andrew Jordan at 174 pounds who earned a 3-1 win over Mike Whalen of Rutgers and Nate Shirk at 184-pounds who won by forfeit over Brent Giehl of Brockport.

The Huskies will take part in the Navy Classic next Saturday in Annapolis, MD.
